Child protection

The Government’s legal requirements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children apply to churches which have Sunday Schools and related activities for persons up to eighteen years of age. Such churches must have a Safeguarding policy. On application the Trust will supply examples of Safeguarding Policy documents. Useful model policies can also be found on the Baptist Union website:
http://www.baptist.org.uk/Groups/220883/Model_Procedures_and.aspx.
A number of churches use thirtyone:eight (www.thirtyoneeight.org) an independent Christian charity for their guidance and for assistance with obtaining police checks.  Thirtyone:eight used to be called the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service.”
