Behold the Lamb (p/b)
J K Popham
“The Lamb of God – the sight of all sights for a sin-bitten, troubled, guilty sinner! A sight of the dear, gracious God-man, Jesus Christ… Behold him!”
Mr J. K. Popham’s ministry was Christ exalting. Echoing John the Baptist, his ministry could be summed up by his cry from the pulpit, “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world!”
Mr Popham was the pastor of Galeed Chapel, Brighton, for over 50 years, and editor of The Gospel Standard Magazine. This book contains forty-one of his prayer meeting addresses – the reader with the desire to see Jesus by faith will not be disappointed.

Ears from Harvested Sheaves
J. C. Philpot
Following the death of their father J C Philpot, his daughters selected pieces from his sermons and arranged them so as to be suitable for daily readings. They are deeply spiritual but also touch upon the practical part of the Christian life. For generations the writings of J C Philpot have been loved by the “living family of God”. ‘Through Baca’s Vale’ is a companion to these readings.

Gospel Almanack
JC Philpot
This daily portion book was first printed in 1859. It has never been reprinted. The portions are much shorter, giving just a thought on a Scripture text. The text has been laid out in a special typeface designed for those with poor sight, and we have published it with the needs of our elderly readers in mind. Presented as a cloth hardback, with a ribbon marker, it is illustrated with facsimile pages from Philpot’s personal diary for 1868 and some lesser known photos of Philpot.

Morning Readings
James Bourne
James Bourne (1773-1854) was the gospel minister used of God in the gracious awakening that occurred in the first half of the 19th century at Pulverbach in Shropshire. It was Mr Bourne’s custom to conduct family morning readings when he was at home in London. One person who attended these weighty and profitable morning devotions was Watkin Maddy who occupied part of Bourne’s house. It was he that reported the readings that appear in this book.

The Brook Besor
Words for those who must tarry at home
Andrew A. Bonar
Christians are often troubled when they are prevented from fulfilling their duties by illness, old age, family life or some unexpected event.
Drawing from the account of the two hundred men who were forced to stay with the bags by the Brook Besor, rather than join king David in war (1 Samuel 30), Andrew Bonar seeks to comfort those who have to stay at home. He shows ways in which we can continue to serve while laid aside. He helpfully produces reasons for us to sing praises to our God in all states and conditions, and graciously expounds the 'fear nots' of the Bible for our consolation.

The Gospel Pointing to the Person of Christ
Andrew A. Bonar
Are you looking to Jesus for the benefits of salvation, rather than looking to him for himself?
In life, our relationships are dysfunctional and fragile if they are solely based on what somebody does for us, or gives us. For similar reasons, the religion of many is weak because they rest on what they get in their relationship to Christ, rather than leaning wholly on the Lord Jesus himself.
Those who are brought to rest alone upon Christ discover the safety and sweetness of a Christ-centred religion. It was this religion which Bonar so earnestly sought for his readers, and his whole aim in this little book is to encourage you to look beyond the benefits of salvation to the Saviour himself.
